Rehmanniae, Radix (raw) - 4 oz. bulk 生地黄

Rehmanniae, Radix (raw) (Chinese: sheng di huang) clears heat and cools the blood. Also nourishes the blood and the yin and generates fluids. It can be used with Paeoniae or steamed Rehmanniae. Do not use if pregnant. Teas of raw Rehmanniae have been used in China for treating rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis and eczema. Raw Rehmanniae looks very similar to steamed Rehmannia. When cooked, it swells and returns to its original shape. Use 9-30 grams in four cups water.
