Dioscoreae, Radix (Chinese: shan yao) tonifies the Spleen and Stomach and benefits both the yin and yang of the Lungs and Kidneys. Brightens the intellect, stimulates muscle and tendon flexibility and growth. Also helps restore impaired immune functions. A sexual tonic good for men or women can be made out of 4.5 grams of antler and 15 grams of Dioscoreae. Dioscoreae also combines well with Lycii, Rehmanniae, Cornus, and Schizandra. Use 9-30 grams per four cups water.
