Achyranthis, Radix (Chinese: niu xi) is good for sore and swollen throats. Can also be used for painful menstruation and aches in the bones. Use with antler and Eucommiae for weak muscles and bones or with Rehmanniae for yin and blood deficiency. Avoid during pregnancy. Use 15-30 grams.
