Jujube Seed Decoction (Suanzao Ren Tang) is an ancient formula, discussed in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber by Zhang Zhong-Jing written during the Eastern Han Dynasty (circa 219AD). Nourishes blood, calms the spirit, clears heat, and stops uneasiness, reduces stress. Can be used by those who want a mild herbal relaxant or to help with sleeping. Also good for menopausal insomnia. Take two pills three times a day.

Contains: Jujube Seed (Zizyphus spinosae), Poria, Anemarrhena, Ligusticum wallichii rhizome,   Chinese Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza).

Formula Explanation:

Jujube, the chief herb of this formula, nourishes Liver blood and calms Heart shen (spirit). 

Ligusticum wallichii regulates Liver blood.

Poria tranquilizes the mind and calms the spirit.

Anemarrhena nourishes yin and clears deficiency heat.

Chinese Licorice (Glycyrrhizae) clears heat and harmonizes the herbs in this formula.
